For the best pizza in NYC you catch the L train to the Morgan Ave station in East Williamsburg from where it's a short walk to Roberta's at 261 Moore St, BKN. East Williamsburg is grungy like Redfern or Erskenville, and Roberta's looks like the beer garden of some rough inner city pub or a bikie headquarters but is actually a renowned Italian restaurant with the best pizzas in NYC as well as other great food. So we went there tonight to celebrate Xavi's big Fourth and it was a lot of fun.

Last weekend was beach weather so we caught the subway out to the famous Coney Island, on the southern shore of Brooklyn and just to the west of JFK airport. 25 stops and about an hour from Midtown on the B,F,N or Q train. Obviously it's not Bondi, but it was a fun day which wouldn't be complete without a hotdog from Nathan's on the boardwalk. we also visited the New York Aquarium (crowded and boring) as Xavi is quite fascinated by sea creatures at present.

Paul was in Chicago last weekend for the world's biggest oncology conference, that more than 30,000 delegates attend from all over the world. The city lived up to it's nickname, with terrible weather in the 40's (5-10 C) and blowing a gale. As there wasn't much on the conference program on Sunday afternoon, he went to a Cubs' game at the famous old Wrigley Field. One strange feature is that they even have exclusive clubs in the terraces across the street where members look in to watch the game from the roof top bleachers. Rain, hail or shine, Chicago has spectacular architecture downtown
