Hi from the New York International Auto Show!
Someone recommended the Show being great for a 2yo boy (and his Dad) and they weren't wrong. Tickets were only $15 and we spent a couple of hours there. After test driving a few different models, X gave the Mini Clubman S his top pick. The Show runs until April 27 at the Javits Convention Center over on W 39th & 11th Ave.
Happy Easter everyone
Nice weather on the weekend - sunny and got up to 15-20 both days, although the wind was cold. And it was cool when the easter egg hunt was on yesterday. We go there late and X only came home with four. The flowers and trees are starting to bloom and the dogwoods along the East River by the UN Building are spectacular at present.

Spoke too soon...
Another shot of Canadian air brought the freezing temperatures back over night and it was only 0 C at 7am, with a bitter wind and RealFeel of minus 3 C. There was even a light dusting of snow on some surfaces. This is the latest start to the growing season since we arrived. (previous latest last frost was April 4 in 2012). And cold again tomorrow.

Spring is finally sprung
So the weather finally turned the corner this weekend, in the 20's (celsius) for 3 days in a row. The daffodils are out in Central Park, where we bumped into Nikki and her boys and some other neighbors and the 5 of them had a lot fun climbing on the rocks and playing on the big slide at Billy Johnson playground at 67th & 5th
On Saturday we caught the Metro-North train up to historic Norwalk CT, about an hour away, to go to the Maritime Aquarium which came with high recommendations but we found diappointing for a hands-on 2 yo like X. But fortunately Stepping Stones Childrens' Museum is just a short walk away on the other side of the 95. It was excellent, and as you can see X had a lot of fun there. We will be back.

Who rides on the rivers
Apologies to J.K Ewers. We had a weekend on the NYC rivers. Saturday it was pretty bleak again but we caught the East River ferry to N. Williamsburg and Dumbo. Sunday it was a glorious spring day and got up to 15 or 17C by 4pm. We caught the ferry from Pier 78 (W. 39th St.) across the Hudson to Hoboken, NJ. Hoboken was the birthplace of which famous 20th century American singer? aka "Hoboken's gift to the world"(Answer in the last picture). It has a great foreshore and several playgrounds with spectacular views of the city. It's also famous for it old railway station and Beaux Arts ticket office.

Spring arrives just in time for the start of the baseball season
Seen on E.70th street today, when it was sunny and 10 deg C. None of our leaves are out yet but there are some tiny buds.
There are more birds around and Paul saw a raccoon in Central Park this morning. It was an Opening Day for the NY Mets at Citi Field yesterday when they lost in extra innings to the Washington Senators. NY Yankees' first game is tonight against the Astros in Houston. They aren't doing much better, trailing 6-0 at the top of the 6th. The Yankees first home game is on Thursday.
