Saturday April 18th 2009: Timlocks' last day in NYC

Started the day with brunch at Schiller's, in the Lower East Side. Louis said he hasn't really missed Melbourne and would be quite happy staying in NYC
from Schiller's we walked through Little Italy. the scooters were very successful in NYC. [Sorry about the Mid West fatty tourists who bombed the photo]. Great weather the last 2 days. Today's Max 24C: more like late May/Jun
then back to apt 12K for a cup of tea and a group photo
before heading off to JFK

Sunday April 5th 2009

It was a beautiful early spring day today. started off cool (7C) but got up to 17C and not a cloud in the sky. we walked across Central Park, then caught the train up to Harlem
this is the campus of City College of NY, founded in 1847, in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of Harlem
A sidewalk BBQ in the main part of Harlem.

Friday April 3, 2009: another nightmare trip - this time to Florida

Delta terminal at LaGuardia. Flighted departed 8 hr later than scheduled

Thursday April 2: Timlocks arrive

Tips: NRL & Racing (Golden Slipper Day)

in the NRL: Melb, Warriors (I hate tipping against Bunnies), Broncos, Cowboys, Newcastle (Manly to be 0-4!), Bulldogs, Eels, Panthers.
Result: 3/8 (i told you i hate tipping v Bunnies), but still 5th/19 on the Hummerstons ladder (Steve & kate 1st & 2nd!); 23/32 for the season.

Racing tips (4:0-2): Rosehill
R4 (Queen of the Turf) box #1: Forensics X, #3 Gallant Tess X, #5 Culminate X
R6 (Geo Ryder): #9: Vision & Power W $9.10
R7 (Slipper): as always a race of many chances. Although i've been a big Regal Saga fan (#1),[4th] Manhattan Rain (#3) [3rd] would have to be the omen bet in the slipper (and we had 8 mm overnight) and apparently bred for the wet. Other chances for the multiples: #8 More Joyous X; #10 Melito X; #14 Horizons X; [#17 Sunday Rose SCR; #18 Stryker SCR]
R9 (Royal Parma) #2: Marching: SCR
CAULFIELD: R8 #4 - Disciplined: W $3.40
Result: $10 out; $12.5 in: +$2.5
Cumulative: 14:2-3; WR 14%; PR: 21%. Bal -$1.5

I'll be adding Australian stock market tips soon.

Australian $ could hit $US 0.80 in coming weeks.
