We will be joining the others in the Dordogne on Wednesday. So today we did a big 36 mile square in the Litchfield Hills of NW Connecticut (CT), surely as hilly as anything in SW France, but probably much more lush. From Millerton NY, we headed S across into CT, then started the loop at Sharon then east to West Cornwall with its covered bridge, then north along the Housatonic River via Falls Village to Route 44, then west to Salisbury for the finish, then continuing on another 6 miles west back across the state border to Millerton NY. It was typical 4th of July weather, a beautiful sunny day, only 70F (20C) when we started at 9 am, but getting into the 90'sF (30's C) by time we finished at 2pm.
